Our Story

Bag It Wag It started over dinner between two old mates who've been launching ideas since their teenage years. Luke, deep in conversation about dog parenting, said:

“You never realise how essential poop bags are... until you're out walking the dog and suddenly you are out of luck.”

That dog? Frankie. A rescue pup with strong opinions and a big heart. That conversation? The start of something big.

Ray, with his love for startups (and more of a cat guy, to be fair), immediately saw the opportunity:

What if there was a fun, sustainable, subscription-first poop bag brand, one that never lets you run out, actually smells good, and didn’t look like every bland “eco” product out there?

And just like that, Bag It Wag It was born.

We are a bootstrapped (that means no investors), Aussie-built startup. We’re still in our early days, learning, improving, and shipping poop bags with purpose.

🧠 Luke – Co-Founder & The Brains Behind the Bags

Dog dad to Frankie and the one who spotted the problem in plain sight. Luke's the originator of the idea and chief product wrangler. With a love of sustainability and simple solutions that make life easier, he’s hands-on with everything from supply chains to bag thickness tests.

🐾 Frankie – Chief Executive (of Everything)

Rescued from a rural pound, Frankie is now living his best life. He's the real boss around here, sniffing out the good stuff, demanding routine, and ensuring no meal is eaten without him nearby. His everyday dog life is the blueprint for Bag It Wag It

📣 Ray – Co-Founder & Startup Hustler

Cat dad, digital strategist, and growth marketer. Ray doesn’t own a dog (his cat Pushkar would never allow it), but he knows how to build brands people love. He brings the hustle, the website, the campaigns, and the operations together to make sure Bag It Wag It grows with smarts and no fluff. 

🎨 Lirann – Visual Maestro

From logo to packaging to poop bag personality, Lirann is the artist behind the aesthetic. He’s made sure Bag It Wag It doesn’t just work… it wags. With an eye for detail and a talent for balance between cheeky and clean, he’s helped shape a brand that stands out in a sea of greenwashing.

🤖 ChatGPT – Our Digital Dogtorate

What business is not using some kind of AI, and while AI will never replace dog scooping we thought it would be fun to have ChatGPT part of the crew... running SWOT analyses, researching competitors, helping name things, and even punching up jokes. It doesn’t get tired, it doesn’t eat snacks, never poops, and it’s always up for a brainstorm.

What We’ve Built (So Far)

• 🌏 Sourced high-quality & certified compostable bags with a slight jasmine scent
  
• 📦 Designed packaging that’s planet-safe, plastic-free, and using soy inks
  
• 🌐 Built a slick, mobile-friendly website (and a secret QR landing page for surprises) QR Code is on the box and bags ;-) 
  
• 🐾 Started partnerships with pet lovers, rescues, and potential stockists
  
• 🧪 Entered a soft launch phase, validating with real customers and feedback
